| Grand Army of the Republic Civil War Portraits — University of Washington; Seattle Public Library. After the Civil War, veterans who had fought for the Union formed the Grand Army of the Republic. Around 1915, local members put together an album of photographic portraits collected from members over the previous 25 years or so. |
