Importing an existing CONTENTdm collection requires Server Administration access rights.

To import an existing CONTENTdm collection, copy all of the collection files and subdirectories from the top-level collection directory (e.g. C:\uw) to the machine. Next, using your Web server's administration interface, define an alias (e.g. /uw) for this directory on your Web server. The directory name and alias name must be identical.

1. After creating the alias on your Web server, open the CONTENTdm Server Administration page (http://your.address.here/cgi-bin/admin/start.exe).

2. Type you user name and login in the login screen. Click OK.

3. Click Add new collection from the CONTENTdm Server Administration page.

4. Enter the name of the collection and the name of the directory alias (e.g. /uw). Specify your collection directory, and select Import of existing CONTENTdm collection.

5. Click Add collection. The imported collection should now appear on the main server administration page and can be further configured.
