Adding Items to a Picture Cube
Use the Picture Cube to create up to 6 views of an object. Once you have opened the Compound Object Creator, and selected Picture Cube from the list of object types, locate the images or items to include in your Picture Cube. (Refer to Getting Started if you need more information about opening the Compound Object Creator and selecting a compound object type.)
Click Search from the Compound Object Creator toolbar.
The Search window opens. Click in the text box that corresponds to the field you wish to search. Begin typing a search term. As you type, a vocabulary list of terms is displayed at right, reflecting a partial list of metadata within the collection. You may type search words or double-click on a term in the vocabulary list to place the term in the text box in order to conduct your search.
If the word you type does not appear in the vocabulary list, this indicates that the word is not in the metadata and your search will produce no results.

To view an item that matches your search criteria, left-click on a thumbnail in the search results window.
To add items to the picture cube, right-click on thumbnail images in the search results window. The images will be placed in the active or red highlighted squares in the Compound Object Creator window and the next portion of the cube will be activated automatically. If you wish, you can activate a different portion of the picture cube by clicking on it.
Up to six items can be added in the Picture Cube. Note: The Grab Set function is not available for creating a picture cube because your search results may produce more than six items.

To delete a single image, click on the image. A red outline appears to show that the image is now active. Click Delete.
To delete all images, click Clear All.
To view metadata for an single image, click the image then click Description from the Compound Object Creator window. Another window opens to display the image metadata.
To view or create metadata for the object, click Picture Cube Description tab in the Compound Object Creator window.
See Creating a Description for your Compound Objects for more information on adding descriptive metadata. No preview option is available for six-sided items.
