Lock Administration

Lock Administration allows administrators to view all locked items in the collection. An item is locked for updates whenever it is updated by an Acquisition Station user or a Collection Administrator. The lock is removed automatically when the update is complete and the text index is rebuilt. Administrators may also remove the lock manually to permit additional updates to the item.

To view locked items

  1. Click on the lock name of an item. The item will be displayed in a new Web browser window. Simply close this new window to return to the Lock Administration.

To unlock items

  1. Click remove in the Action column adjacent to the item you wish to unlock. This releases the item and any changes that caused the item to be locked will be discarded. The item can once again be retireved and edited. To maintain collection metadata accuracy, use the lock feature with care.
