Lock Administration

Records or items are locked automatically when you download an existing collection item for editing. No other users will be able to edit this item while you are working with it. Items are unlocked after you upload them and perform a build of the collection. An item will be unlocked if you delete the item from your project.

If you encounter a locked item to which you need access, the Collection Administrator has the power to remove record locks manually by using the Lock Administration option found on the Collection Administration console. The Administrator may unlock an item by clicking Remove next to the item name on the Lock Administration page. Learn more.

Note: To maintain the integrity of your collection data, the Administrator should verify that the corresponding item is not in use before manually removing any lock. This includes making certain that the locked item is not being updated by the indicated user and that the item is removed from the user's project.
