Editing Items in a Project

To edit items within a project:

  1. Open an existing project.

  2. Within the spreadsheet, double-click the thumbnail image of the item to be edited.

  3. The Media Editor opens. Edit the metadata information or perform basic image editing.

  4. Edit metadata by typing text directly into the text boxes in the Media Editor. Media Editor fields highlighted in green are searchable in the CONTENTdm Search Client. Searchable fields are created by your Collection Administrator.

  5. To edit an image click the Imaging menu in the Acquisition Station toolbar. Note: Image processing functions supported by the Acquisition Station are intended for simple image processing in your workflow. For more sophisticated image manipulation or processing we recommend using an image processing program, such as Adobe Photoshop®.

    Select Image Resize to change the height and width of the image proportionally. When you change either dimension, CONTENTdm will complete the corresponding calculations to render a proportional image.

    Select Flip Horizontal to flip the image on its the horizontal axis.

    Select Flip Vertical to flip the image on its vertical axis.

    Select Rotate to specify the direction and angle that you want to rotate an image. Click the radio button to specify clockwise or counter-clockwise rotation and type the number of degrees you want to rotate the image in the text box. Click OK to see your changes and exit the dialog box.

    Select Blur to blur the image.

    Select Sharpen to sharpen the image.

    Select Watermark to add a grayscale watermark to the current image. (Refer to Branding, Watermarking, and Banding Images for more information on adding watermarks to multiple images at once.)

  6. Click Save in the Media Editor to keep text and image changes. These changes do not alter the original source files.

Changes to your project within the Acquisition Station are automatically saved when you end your session by closing the project.
